BC Energy is providing energy master planning and design services to develop a road map for decarbonizing Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s 95-acre urban campus with a phased approach.
The team has gained an understanding of WPI’s strategic objectives and examined WPI’s current and imminent technologies. To meet the institute’s goals of reducing its carbon footprint, our team is exploring various renewable technologies including geo-exchange; solar PV; air- and water-source heat pumps; combined heat and power; battery energy storage; and HVAC energy conservation measures.
Ultimately, BC Energy is developing an energy master plan and timeline that will be consistent with WPI’s long-term financial and capital outlay plans and will meet the institute’s target of a net-zero campus.
