In 2023, BC Energy took over management of the Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s physical boiler plant, which serves its main campus. With a long-term contract in place, BC Energy assessed the current operations and began a comprehensive program that will set the plant on a path for success with safety, compliance, and efficiency.

To date, BC Energy has implemented new maintenance procedures, operating procedures, 29 safety programs, an employee handbook, and an administrative program. BC Energy is also accountable for staffing the plant, technical troubleshooting and advisement, equipment operations and maintenance, and overall plant management.
