As part of a major renovation and rehabilitation project, BC Energy managed the installation of building-wide solar panels to this 12-story, 160,000 SF senior apartment building originally built in 1974.

A total of twenty-four solar thermal panels are now on the exterior, eastern side of the apartments. The solar thermal system has wall-mounted vacuum tubes, a solar preheated mod-con boiler, and a mechanical room for monitoring the system. Additionally, the building features Energy Star-rated replacement windows, new HVAC systems for increased energy efficiency, and energy-efficient domestic hot water. Furthermore, Energy Star-rated appliances are part of the building’s sustainability efforts.
