Cogeneration /
Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

Reliable. Efficient. Reduced Utility Costs.

For over two decades, BC Energy has provided turnkey cogeneration solutions for healthcare, higher education, industrial, and government clients. Significantly more efficient than traditional power generation (typically runs at 50% efficiency), cogeneration eliminates waste and can offer up to 70-90% energy efficiency.

Turnkey Cogeneration / Combined Heat and Power Plants

BC Energy developed and constructed a 5 MW cogeneration plant for a confidential client that was designed with a compact footprint.

Let Cogeneration Power Your Future

BC Energy offers complete turnkey cogeneration solutions (plan, design, construct, operate).

Our team’s comprehensive approach begins at planning and design, regulatory compliance, utility, agency (state, federal, and local) coordination, plant construction, and continues through implementation and operation.

Key Benefits of Cogeneration:
  • Reduced Operating Expenses
  • Predictable Annual Costs
  • Energy Reliability
  • Mitigate Electric Capacity Issues
  • Extended Lifespan of Equipment
  • Diminished Carbon Emissions
Burrstone Energy Center Microgrid

To meet the needs of a group of neighboring institutions, BC Energy developed, owned, and operated a cogeneration microgrid for 15 years. The plant was the first CHP plant of its size in upstate New York to export power back to the utility.

Burrstone Energy Center provided power stability, reduced demand on the local utility, and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in utility costs. The project gave our team a unique understanding of the complexities of development and the implementation process from both sides of the table.

Qualified Design-Builder

A division of Bette & Cring Construction Group (a large, regional, design-build contractor and constructor), BC Energy has the experience, bonding capacity, and resources to meet the contractual needs of developers, data center clients, and financial institutions.

BC Energy and Bette & Cring can design, build, and integrate power solutions specifically tailored to your needs. With our all-inclusive design-build method, we take the responsibility of the following, so you don’t have to: selecting design partners/consultants; procuring equipment and materials; managing subcontractor bidding; overseeing the entire design-build process from design to installation; and testing, commissioning, and start up.

Delivery is Everything

Our team members (design, construction, and equipment partners) are along to the entire ride, right from the start.

Developers will often hire an engineering firm to develop a design, only to find that when it comes to construction, the project cannot be built as expected (too expensive, equipment not available, fuel availability insufficient, etc.) and the project is scrapped.

We look at the project from every angle.

We view each project through three perspectives:

Design – Will the engineered solution meet the client’s objectives?

Constructability – Can it be built within a reasonable budget and schedule?

Integration and Operability – Is it easy to integrate with the infrastructure and will it be easy to operate and maintain?

  • Multi-Phase Construction
  • Modular
  • No matter the size of the project, 50 MW, 100 MW, or 200 MW, the process is the same.
