As part of a major renovation and rehabilitation project, BC Energy managed the installation of building-wide sustainable features to a 12-story, 160,000 SF senior apartment building built in 1974.

Twenty-four solar thermal panels were installed on the exterior, eastern side of the apartments. The solar thermal is equipped with wall-mounted vacuum tubes, a solar preheated mod-con boiler, and a mechanical room designated for monitoring the system. Other building features include: Energy Star rated replacement windows; new HVAC systems and energy efficient domestic hot water; and Energy Star rated appliances.
