- 350 Ton Absorption Chiller
Alongside the design-build construction of a combined heat and power system, BC Energy installed a 350-ton absorption chiller into UMMC’s existing physical plant. To retrofit the large equipment into an already crowded plant, BC Energy personnel utilized 3-D laser scanning technology to determine where the unit could be located and how to physically move the equipment into the plant.
The new chiller (capable of cooling 1.3 million ton-hours annually) provides additional air conditioning to the hospital and enhances the critical utility infrastructure.
